Rock supergroup Intelligent Music Project and Ronnie Romero will represent Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin with the song âIntentionâ.
The groupâs participation was announced at a special press conference given by BNT broadcaster CEO Emil Koshlukov and Dr Milen Vrabevski; creator of Intelligent Music Project, with its ever-evolving lineup of superstars.
Perhaps the biggest surprise is that the god of rock Ronnie Romero (lead singer of Ritchie Blackmoreâs legendary Rainbow) will be at the helm of the ensemble!
The group also includes Bisser Ivanov, Slavin Slavchev (the winner of X factor Bulgaria), Ivo Stefanov, Dimiter Sirakov and drummer Stoyan Yankulov.
Eurovision fans will recognize Stoyan from his previous two Concours appearances with singer Elitsa: Voda (Water) finished 5th in Helsinki 2007, while Samo Shampioni narrowly missed a place in the Grand Final in Malmö 2013.

Over the years, some of the worldâs most popular rock musicians have contributed to the project, including: Simon Phillips (TOTO, Protocol), Bobby Rondinelli (Rainbow, Black Sabbath), Joseph Williams (TOTO), John Payne (ex-Asia ), John Lawton (Uriah Heep, Luciferâs friend), Carl Sentence (Nazareth), Nathan East (Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, etc.), Todd Sucherman (Styx) and Time Pierce (Joe Cocker, Michael Jackson).

Details of Intention remains a well-kept secret but everything will be revealed at the beginning of December on BNT1.
In the meantime, if youâre into hard-rock songs with progressive hooks, driven by guitar riffs and catchy keyboards, thereâs plenty of Intelligent Music Group back catalog to enjoy online.
