Beijing-based tech company ByteDance recently launched an app called “Sponge Band”, Tech Planet reported on Monday. According to an official introduction, this product will better serve users with music editing needs on Soda Music and Douyin, the Chinese mainland version of TikTok.
Sponge Band is a mobile audio creation tool for smartphones. Apart from the basic recording and effector functions, it also introduces many AI tools, lowering the bar for creating quality content efficiently.
Sponge Band users include both professional and novice musicians, who can create music anytime and anywhere through the app. Currently, however, the app requires an invite code to activate an account.
Sponge Band has four creative functions, namely: recording studio, playback and vocal optimization, one-click remix and automatic mashup.
The “recording studio” supports audio import, audio editing, multitrack recording, in-ear monitoring, and a variety of customizable effectors. When recording audio, the “playback and vocal optimization” function can effectively balance bass and treble.
After importing audio, users can modify the original style with the “one-click remix” AI function, and a variety of styles are available. The app also supports quick one-click mashup, which refers to merging two songs in one minute.
