Coldplay’s new Music Of The Spheres World Tour app is available to download now for iOS and Android devices via coldplay.com/app ahead of the highly anticipated US leg of the band’s world stadium tour, which kicks off in Dallas on May 6. The free application – produced in partnership with SAP – can be downloaded via coldplay.com/app.
The app is a key part of the band’s commitment to making their upcoming Music Of The Spheres World Tour as sustainable and low-carbon as possible since, according to studies, fan travel accounts for the largest share of emissions related to the tour. The app allows fans to plan low-carbon trips to and from shows, with those who choose green trips being rewarded with a discount code.
The app will also measure total carbon emissions from fan travel so the band can reduce these impacts through high-quality nature-based solutions, such as reforestation and soil regeneration.
The app was first made available to fans ahead of the band’s record-breaking concerts in Latin America in March/April. Tens of thousands of travel plans have already been submitted, with the average fan carbon footprint down around 50% from the 2016/17 A Head Full Of Dreams tour.
Along with the Fan Trip Calculator, the app also features Coldplay-themed AR games and experiences, exclusive behind-the-scenes content, photos and videos from every show, plus updates and information on the Coldplay tour.
The band will also stream the full concert audio from an upcoming European date exclusively via the app in an SAP-powered presentation (full details to be announced soon).
