Flogging Molly is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day 2022 with fans around the world. In partnership with Bushmills Irish Whiskey, from the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world, the beloved Celtic rock band returns with their revered Los Angeles festival at the Hollywood Palladium and a simulcast live stream available via Floggingmolly.veeps. com.
Accompanying the performance news is the band’s first song in five years, “These Times Have Got Me Drinking,” which will arrive March 10 via Rise Records (pre-save: https://riserecords.lnk. to/TTHGMD).
“It’s a perfect song at the moment, I think it sums up everything our band is about – celebrating with our loved ones in difficult times. It’s about the joy in the middle and despite everything that tries to crush us,” Dave said. King, adding of the upcoming performance, “To be able to announce a return to the Hollywood Palladium for St. Patrick’s Day is such a great thing. We can’t wait to be back in Los Angeles, where it all started.”
Flogging Molly’s annual St. Patrick’s Day festivals in Los Angeles have been put on hiatus due to the pandemic, with the 2020 event canceled and the 2021 festivities broadcast live from Ireland. For 2022, the LA-based band via Dublin have found a way to merge the best of both worlds. The free festival (RSVP via Floggingmolly.com) and evening performance will both be streamed via Floggingmolly.veeps.com. Online entrants will have a selection of exclusive merchandising items available to them.
The outdoor festival will take place on the grounds of the Hollywood Palladium. As presenting sponsor, there will be Bushmills activations throughout, including photo opportunities and free giveaways. Additional activity includes Irish dancing from the Power Academy of Irish Dance, games, food trucks and performances from The Briggs, Hoist The Colours, Matt & Dennis acoustic and Nathen DJ set. The evening concert includes openers Russkaja and Vandoliers.
The group recently announced two weeks of performances in the United States, followed by the sold-out Salty Dog Cruise. Departing from Miami on March 28, the four-day cruise also includes performances by Descendents, The Distillers, Frank Turner, Agent Orange and more.
Flogging Molly is currently working on the Rise Records follow up to their 2017 album, Life is Good.
