You are here because you want to learn how to download music from Spotify to your Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. A noble goal because, let’s face it, sometimes you might just want to leave your phone at home when you go for a run. And if you are using the Bluetooth / Wi-Fi only version of the Galaxy Watch 4, you will then need to download your music there if you want to listen to it from the watch.
You will still need a Bluetooth headset or earphones. Sure. But it would allow you to easily disconnect for a little while while you are exercising. Which, for some, is a much needed respite. To download songs from Spotify to your Galaxy Watch 4, there are a few steps you need to follow.
But don’t worry, however. They’re all pretty straightforward, and it shouldn’t take you too long to listen to music on your watch. The biggest expectation will be how long it will take for the songs to actually download.
How to Download Songs from Spotify to Your Galaxy Watch 4
As stated above, downloading songs from Spotify to your watch is a straightforward process. It only takes a few minutes to go through most of the steps and then just wait for the songs to finish downloading. So here is where to start.
Make sure the app is installed
First of all, you want to make sure that the Spotify app is installed on your watch. If it isn’t, install it. And if so, make sure you’re using the latest version of the app. If you use the watch daily, the app has probably been updated. But if this is the first time you’ve turned it on in months, the app may need an update to access the download feature.
Launch the app and log in
Now that you have the app, or if you’ve had it but never used it before, launch the app and log into your account. This is a fairly straightforward process with the app telling you to pair with the Spotify app on your phone. You won’t need to sign in unless you are not signed in to the Spotify app on your smartphone.
Swipe the screen to the left
As soon as you open the Spotify app on your Galaxy Watch 4, you are taken to the play screen. Which brings up everything you last played through the app on your device. It also displays recently played content from PC app or through Spotify website. Since your account is linked, it will always provide you with the most recently played track.
What you want to do after opening the app on your watch and seeing this screen, is swipe left to bring up a list of options. Here you will see Downloads, Your library, Heavy rotations, Shows you might like, New versions for you, and more.
Tap on content and then tap the Download button to watch
After you find something you want to download, tap on it and eventually you’ll see a play button for that content. But just below there will be a Download to watch button. Tap on it to start the download. Then wait for it to finish or you can go and get more stuff to download on the watch.
You can find your current downloads on the Downloads page
Remember when you told us to swipe left from the main screen then you would see Downloads at the top? Well, this is where all the current downloads will be displayed. You can view this screen to see how many of your downloads have completed.
Moreover, this is where you can go to play all the songs you have downloaded. After pressing the play button, you will be taken to a screen for pairing headphones or bluetooth earbuds if you haven’t already. It is worth noting that you can also download just about anything if you are a premium member. Including playlists, single tracks, full albums, podcasts and more.
