Invited audience at the Music in the Woods concert series in Northwood

Free events scheduled for July 19, August 23 and September 20

Northwood University invites the community to an upcoming Music in the Woods concert series beginning with a performance by the Coleman Road Band on July 19 at the John and Marjorie Hohman Amphitheater in Midland.

“As Midland’s University, we wanted to continue our efforts to open our beautiful campus to the public, and this upcoming series of concerts will delight all ages,” said Kent MacDonald, President of Northwood University.

In addition to an evening of great music, each concert will feature games for the whole family, free food trucks, cakes and soft drinks. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase adult beverages at Tavern 59, which will be open during the concert series launch event on July 19.

Those planning to go out should bring their own lawn chairs. Everyone is allowed to bring snacks and soft drinks on July 19.

July 19 will feature the Coleman Road Band, a five-piece band playing classic rock, blues, soul and R&B. The other dates for the Music in the Woods at Northwood University concert series are August 23 and September 20. In the event of inclement weather, the festivities will be moved to an indoor location at Northwood’s Midland Campus, located at 4000 Whiting Drive.
