The West Michigan Music Scene

After a year 2020 affected by COVID, it was another record year for the Michigan music scene.

Live music made a comeback as local and regional artists released an avalanche of new recordings, sending many of them on rugged tours – from The Accidentals of Traverse City to Michigander of Midland-Kalamazoo-Detroit to Grand Rapids Full Cord Bluegrass and more. .

And 2022 is shaping up to be even more eventful when it comes to concerts and festivals as the pandemic subsides (we hope).

The resumption of live performances last year once again created opportunities for Local Spins’ talented team of photographers to capture the passion of Michigan bands and solo artists in concert footage.

We’ve compiled over two dozen for the 2022 local rotation schedule, along with a long list of music festivals that have been announced and confirmed so far.

Local Spins created these colorful keepsakes several years ago primarily as a vehicle to showcase the incredible artistry of our concert photographers, as well as to show off the diverse talent of emerging Michigan bands.

And since then, they’ve also become a great way to keep up with Michigan’s music festival scene, which has exploded over the past decade.
