NEW ULM – The Minnesota Music Hall of Fame reopened for the season with a special open house event on Saturday.

Admission to the hall was free on Saturdays. Visitors were able to view exhibits on the 186 inductees and listen to music provided by Adam Munstermann on accordion and Gary Schraeder on tuba.

Munstermann and Schraeder were going through a series of vintage sheet music that was donated to the Hall of Fame, playing some of the selections.

Munstermann said the hall was getting packets of old music that people didn’t want to just throw away.

The two recognized many songs, but discovered that some scores had slightly different arrangements than they remembered.

The MMHF is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until November 1. Admission is $6.

Each year, six new members are inducted into the hall. This year, the induction ceremony has been moved to Friday, April 22 at Turner Hall.

This year’s inductees are:

• Mollie Busta Lange (Mollie B)

• Jay Ernest and the Church of Cash

• Minnesota Brass

•Paul Diethelm

• Lester Schuft
