Spiritualized has released a new single and music video titled “The Mainline Song”. The English rock band will release their new album Everything was beautiful on April 22 via Fat Possum.

“The Mainline Song” describes the protests that took place across the country in 2022. The beginning of the music video begins with a scene traveling on train tracks and ends at a train station. Spiritualized frontman J. Spaceman called his isolation during the lockdown “beautiful loneliness.”

“I felt like I had been training for this all my life,” he said.

All along Everything was beautifulSpaceman plays 16 distinct instruments, while featuring 30 musicians and vocalists, including daughter Poppy and collaborator John Coxon.

About the upcoming album, he explained, “There was so much information on it that the slightest movement would throw it off balance, but going around in circles is important to me. It’s not like you’re spinning out of control, but you’re going around in circles and with every revolution, you’re clinging to the good every time. Of course, you also make mistakes, but you hang on to some of them too and that’s how you…succeed. Well, you are getting there.

The band will be on tour starting March 31 in Dallas and ending September 24 in New York, New York.
