One of the biggest summer festivals in the Aval region is back with concerts, fireworks and a carnival.

The Taylor Summer Festival runs June 23-26 at Heritage Park.

A large carnival, sponsored by Meijer, will be presented inside the park throughout the festival.

Two evenings of musical entertainment will be highlighted by well-known rockers, as well as a country-pop singer and songwriter.

Stephen Pearcy, the voice of Ratt, and Slaughter will perform live on June 24. Dylan Scott, along with local guests Cody Boggs and The Family Tradition Band, will perform on June 25.

As the founder, vocalist and songwriter of the metal rock band Ratt, Pearcy is credited with pioneering the early ’80s rock scene on the Sunset Strip. During nearly four decades of success with Pearcy at the helm, Ratt has released eight albums and played thousands of shows worldwide, while selling over 20 million records. Ratt is best known for “Round and Round”, “Lay It Down”, and “You’re In Love”.

Slaughter hit the radio, MTV and the American touring circuit like a tornado – seemingly coming out of nowhere to smash through everything in his path and knock him down. They are best known for their hits, “Fly to the Angels” and “Up All Night”.

Eva Under Fire are local rockers who have toured across the country and will be stopping at home to open Friday night’s concert. The show’s promoter says the band brings an entertaining new setlist of pop, rock, alternative and metal sounds, sprinkled with punk and complemented by powerful lead vocals.

On Saturday, Scott will headline an evening of country music with his double-platinum certified “My Girl,” which became his first No. 1 on the radio, followed by the platinum Top 5 single, “Hooked,” then his last number 1, the “Nobody” certified gold.

Ticket prices for each concert are $20 in advance and $25 at the door (featured stage/front seats); and $10 in advance and $15 at the door for general admission and standing room only. Advance tickets are available online at taylorfestival.com.

As for Carnival, those planning to attend can save up to $7 on unlimited Carnival Wristbands at taylorfestival.com. Wristbands can be purchased in advance, until midnight June 22, for $18. The discount is valid for Thursday, Friday and Sunday, but is not valid on Saturday. Anyone 17 or under must be accompanied by an adult.
