The song “Because” was actually composed, written, recorded and produced entirely by The Band Famous co-founder and co-producer, Jacob Alexander Figueroa, aka Zander, while the duo lived in New York City, Upper. Then, a year later, exactly one day after Zander’s birthday, August 2, the whole radio show was replayed. As if they weren’t thrilled enough, they heard that their music was being played in multiple countries for consecutive days! On August 3, Fasching Web Radio in France aired the show featuring The Band Famous, Sonic Youth and other great artists. On August 4, the entire archive of the show was retrieved and broadcast on Radio Lantau, the number one radio station in Hong Kong, China! On board Cloud Nine they had no idea they could climb even higher, then on August 7th and 9th another UK radio station, Radio Wigwam, broadcast in Cardiff, UK broadcast the entire radio show featuring “Because” by The Band Famous.
The inspiration and fuel to continue that these blessings have provided for the musical duo cannot be overstated. The pair have overcome more difficulties than the average American. From toxic and abusive family, to jealous enemies and saboteurs, to identity theft and other thefts they suffered, to life in a 4-door sedan as a young couple of entrepreneurs married for 2.5 years to recovering from some of the setbacks and struggles above. Norell wrote “Emotional Scatter,” a popular trip hop track for the duo, while they still lived together in the car as a personal anthem to keep going and keep fighting the good fight.
In doing so, surviving and persevering through the hardships they endured, they were not only able to help themselves achieve some of their dreams, but they were also able to help make many dreams come true for their creative colleagues. . They have organized, produced and sometimes performed numerous benefit concerts and even a double fundraising music festival between January 2019 and January 2020. They have helped to raise awareness and raise profits for charities and causes such as the American Heart Association, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, My Friend’s Place, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, in which Norell and Zander personally drove and delivered two huge boxes of food and a check with the donations they collected. They gave many artists and performers their very first show in Los Angeles, and since the success of Covid, for many of them, this could be the last live gig in quite some time.
Unfortunately, as covid has hurt many small businesses, Norell and Zander knew it was unrealistic to try and stay open with their independent live / work / music room. They broadcast live another benefit festival for Los Angeles Animal Services and LGBT Center. The group was inspired to do more animal rescues and since they had no choice but to shut down their site, they purchased 41 off-grid acres in Arizona in February 2021 and began to adjust to a family lifestyle. Now they have many animals, including a doberman puppy, rabbits, several ducks and chickens. With the move from LA to off-grid in AZ, the setup took some time. The couple is even in the process of going 100% solar!
The song “Because” originated in New York City, the music video and production for the feature film were both shot in Los Angeles at various locations including venue The Band Famous, then completed and edited by Norell at Zander’s Vision. , finalized off-grid in Arizona.
The Matrix: Because it’s a fan-made movie. Zander and Norell were both massively influenced and inspired by what they call one of the greatest movie franchises of all time. This greatly influenced their thirst for technology and the duo were in fact the first in the world to self-distribute and release their debut album as an eponymous interactive app The Band Famous, first launched on iPhone in May 2014.
