Two-day ‘Anugoonj’ ends with songs, instrumental music and classical dances


BHOPAL (Madhya Pradesh): A two-day ‘Anugoonj’ cultural event ended Thursday evening with group chants, instrumental music and Indian classical dances under the direction of Dhanak at the Subhash Government Upper Secondary School.

The annual event was organized by the School Education Department to showcase children’s creative skills. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was the guest of honor. School Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar chaired the event.

Instrumental music, group chants, various classical dances from India, Bharatnatyam, Manipuri, Odissi, Kathak, Fusion and Western dance etc. were presented which delighted the audience.

Students from Bhopal public schools performed “Bharat Maa Stuti” through various classical dance forms including Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, Manipuri, Mohiniattam and Kuchipudi. Based on the composition of Mayuram Vishwanatha Sastri, the dance was one of the major attractions of the event.

Students from Indore public schools performed the Kathak ‘Kavya Ninaadí dance. The compositions of some of the poets of MP like Kalidas, Bhartrihari, Subhadra Kumari Chauhan, Padmakar, Makhanlal Chaturvedi, Shivmangal Singh Suman etc. were used in dancing.

Students from Gwalior and Indore public schools presented the instrumental music ‘Bharat Swar Malika’. Students from Bhopal Public Schools performed a song called “Sangeet ki Yatra” which depicts the origin of the sound. Gwalior students presented “Dashavatar” Gwalior students presented “Dashavatar” through Manipuri dance.

They introduced the ten incarnations of Lord Vishna as Mastya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Shri Ram, Buddha and Kalki.
